Leopold was born and brought up in Vienna... and it was here he began his apprenticeship as a chef and started tourism studies at a local college. Although only 15 years old, he quickly realised he'd found his vocation, and he left the college with top grades.

Leopold then worked for more than nine years at the Renaissance Hotel, Vienna (a five-star hotel that is part of the Marriott group) in management positions. As duty manager there, he was charged to look after the high number of celebrities that stayed at the hotel.

The following three years were spent working at the five-star Hilton Munich Park Hotel (one of the city's leading venues), where Leopold was in charge of trainees and a team responsible for the numerous celebrities, politicians, royals and high-profile business people passing through the hotel. After that, he spent more than two years as a trainer and manager for Lufthansa in Germany.
    Leopold's stay with Lufthansa was followed by a one-year stint as a manager at the privately owned Cassidy’s Hotel in Dublin. It was in the 'fair city' that he was inspired to set up UK Hotel Consultancy, which he started in February 2008. Since then, UK Hotel Consultancy has gone from strength to strength, and its specialists have provided a range of professional services that have significantly improved the performance of client hotels and guest houses in the UK.
