#Dewani : Man who setup Petition to call for Britain to stop extraditions to South Africa is the son in law of a convicted murderer.

The father in law raped a woman, and in another case held a knife to a woman and threatened to put a cigarette out in her eye. He was kept on Death Row in Oregon till he died.

Gary Peerless, his son in law, has set up a Petition calling for Shrien Dewani NOT to be extradited for charges of murdering his wife Anni Hindocha.

Shrien #Dewani male or female BUT of the gay variety !

Shrien Male or female?...very strange conversation ! that turns out to be about Shrien Dewani. Possible sexual encounter ? Quote: Closer to the date of your possible meeting with this person, can't you just give them a call so as to discuss how you would recognise each other (if not meeting in your/their office) and see if you speak to a man or a woman. Or you can always find another work-related excuse to speak to them. To cut it short - I am trying to suggest a simple way to find the correct answer to your riddle.End of quote....Does not sound much like 'business' to me...:If the allegations that Dewani IS gay are true, this could be a conversation enquiring if Shrien is known in the gay circle and what 'role' does he play, male / female of the homosexual variety..I have also placed a link to ALL Indian girls names and SHRIEN is not a girls name !

I did a very quick search on Google.co.uk and found the following sentence: 'My guide's name was a young lass named Shrien.'
The name seems to be Indian.
Good luck

Jeremy,

Closer to the date of your possible meeting with this person, can't you just give them a call so as to discuss how you would recognise each other (if not meeting in your/their office) and see if you speak to a man or a woman. Or you can always find another work-related excuse to speak to them. To cut it short - I am trying to suggest a simple way to find the correct answer to your riddle.

#Dewani : Links for Anni and her family..

#Dewani: Max Clifford

Unconfirmed via twitter  Max Clifford, now complaining he has not been paid his fee for the last six months...

I remember Cliffords words ' I looked into his eyes and knew he was innocent '

Shrien #Dewani #BBC : Shrien tried to influence a BBC reporter with his 'story 'and wanted to correct inconsistancies.

One point that does not ring true, the walk along the beach the night Anni met her fate. Anni had complained to others on the trip of her very painful feet. There are two images of Anni and on both occasions she appears to be wearing white bedroom slippers...I do not believe Anni walked along the beach that night, then why did Shrien say it ? to create an image of newlyweds so much in love, innocent of what the night held in store, for one of them at least.

#Dewani: Extradition one step closer...

#Dewani family reel after 'green light' extradition...

Family and friends were visibly shocked in court on Wednesday when a British judge recommended that Shrien Dewani should be extradited to South Africa to stand trial as an accused in the murder of his wife Anni while they were on honeymoon in Cape Town last year.
A final decision will now have to be made by the British Home Secretary Theresa May and it is expected that the Dewani family will appeal the judgment if it goes against them, his brother Preyen Dewani told the Mail & Guardian before the court began.

Thirty-one year old Dewani's supporters occupied the press gallery above the court during the tense proceedings, while his former in-laws took up seats near the judge. The families did not greet each other when they passed in the corridors.

Wearing his trademark high-collar tracksuit top, Dewani sat behind glass, with two security guards on either side of him. All three sat motionless throughout the lengthy judgment reading, which gave no clear indication of which way it was going until the end.

After district court judge Howard Riddle had spent two hours reading his judgment in the Woolwich Crown Court in South-East London, he dropped the bombshell that he would recommend to the Home Secretary that Dewani should be extradited to South Africa. Riddle said that there was huge public interest in the case.

No comment from Shrien Dewani's family

Dewani's upset parents and family later slipped out of court without making any comment to the large media contingent waiting outside with cameras and recorders.

Anni Dewani's family welcomed the ruling, saying it was a step towards "closure".

"Nothing will bring Anni back, my beautiful, little, innocent sister who was killed. But getting this decision, today at least we will get somewhere," Anni's sister Ami Denborg said.

"I think she will not rest in peace until all this is over, and this is one step in the right direction for us."...read more

Anni #Dewani: What really happened with the memorial fund ?

1. A page was setup on JustGiving web site by Preyel Dewani to cash in on public sympathy at a time Dewani was paraded as a victim. The Mccans raised millions in a similar way, she probably was hoping for the same and got excited at the prospect.

2. Mostly public and Lohana community members donated. I recall seeing entries from £10-£25 and even a large one of £1000 with an English name. The total was £11,169 - with UK tax relief - before the page was cancelled.

Preyen Dewani came on the microphone at Anni's funeral ceremony and asked people to donate to. Baskets were sent round for cash collections. A lot of people donated. It is not revealed by Dewani's how much was collected or what happened to that cash collection. (It is unheard of to collect money at a Hindu funeral, most people were shocked and surprised, and many donated out of bewilderment and embarassment).

3. Since Dewani was named suspect, donations to the fund effectively stopped as nobody could trust the Dewani. The Dewanis and Clifford tried to revive this in early January with the media fanfare claiming they were building a school for Anni, jointly with the Hindocha family (a claim rubbished by Ashok Hindocha the next day). But still no more donations were forthcoming due to lack of trust in Dewani's.

4. Through their friends, the Dewani's tried to get relatives of the Hindocha family to join a trust to build up the fund for a school. But nobody wanted to deal with the Dewani's or have anything to do with them. Faced with the choice of having to cough up the balance of the money for the school themselves, the Dewani's instead decided to trash the whole project secretly and attempt to sweep it away.

5. The charity Sewa UK that was nominated by Preyal Dewani to front the fund raising is actually run by no one other than contacts of the Dewani's themselves, specifically Dhiraj M Shah and Dhiraj D Shah who - in their previous guise as HSS (using the same trading name Sewa UK) did a lot of work with NHSF where Shrien was General Secretary and where his family loved to boast that he was still actively involved after his student days.

Check UK charity number 1135425 - SEWA UK and UK Charity No: 267309 - HSS.

A check of the Charities Commission website proves that HSS has always been late in filing its accounts and returns, and its last years accounts are overdue. Sewa UK has never filed accounts yet and there was also the issue last month of the dysfunctional telephone number and email address. The telephone number given to the charities commission by them is that of a pharmacy in Birmingham.

As at today, Vanvasi.org has confirmed in writing they have not received a single penny from the memorial fund from Sewa UK. Their name and website was touted on the front of the collection page on JustGiving by Preyel Dewani.

Preyen #Dewani :It is alleged that Preyen asked for potentially incriminating CCTV footage from the hotel.

The alleged request for the footage was rejected because the manager had been summoned by prosecutors as a possible witness. The claim is made in a police dossier obtained by The Mail on Sunday and forms part of an application by South African authorities to have Shrien extradited from the UK to stand trial.

In the dossier, police captain Paul Hendrikse says Preyen asked for the footage soon after Shrien returned to Britain following Anni’s death. ‘I am concerned there may have been an attempt to interfere with the investigation,’ the officer says.
Preyen, 32, is a director of the Bristol-based care-home company run by Shrien.

According to the police dossier, the footage shows Shrien staying in the cab that drove him and Anni from the airport the day before the killing and talking to Tongo for four minutes while Anni, 28, booked into the hotel.

Captain Hendrikse says mobile-phone records prove the two men had another conversation that night. Shrien’s lawyers insist he is innocent and that Tongo tried to incriminate him to get a reduced sentence.

Preyen #Dewani: Lets take a closer look at the 'knowledge' Preyen had when we consider the fact he was not their at the crime scene AND the amazing fact no one but Preyen has ever said Anni had been shot three times.

The husband of murdered bride Anni Dewani begged robbers to take his wedding ring to spare his wife – moments before she was shot dead, his brother revealed today.

Husband of murdered honeymooner begged robbers to spare wife

Multi-millionaire Shrien Dewani, 30, offered the car-jackers everything the newlyweds had – including their engagement and wedding rings, jewellery, cash and mobile phones during the incident in Cape Town, South Africa.

He then bravely struggled with the gun-toting robbers before they thrust him out of their people carrier and drove off.

The car was later found abandoned with beautiful bride, Anni Dewani, 28, dead on the back seat – she had been shot three times from point blank range.

Shrien’s brother Preyen Dewani tragically revealed the couple had decided to go to South Africa because the name combined their two initials – ”S” and ”A”.

He said the couple had been in a chauffeur-driven Volkswagen Sharan on the main road back to Cape Town on Saturday (13/11) when the attack happened.

“Two men brandishing shotguns jumped into the car”

They had just enjoyed an evening meal in Somerset West, an upmarket suburb in the wine regions, 50km east of the city.

Preyen, 32, said: ”They were on their way back to their hotel at about 10pm when a car in front of them forced them to slow down and stop.

”Two men brandishing shotguns jumped into the car and forced the driver to drive off at speed.

”After about ten minutes they threw the driver out, and after driving on they threatened the two of them and said they were going to split them up.

”Shrien offered them everything they had, their wedding and engagement rings, their watches, cash and mobile phones.

”The robbers took these items and then told Shrien to leave the vehicle.

”He refused, and after a struggle they pushed him out of the vehicle as it was driving along, and threatened to shoot Anni if he did not leave.”

After being thrown out of the car in Harare, an area of the Khayelitsha township, Mr Dewani flagged down a passing motorist and called the police.

“There were no signs of a struggle”

A search failed to find the car, so local police scrambled a force helicopter and brought in every available officer to help find Anni.

The first the family heard was when a frantic Mr Dewani phoned from his Cape Grace Hotel in Cape Town, to explain what had happened.

They were updated throughout the night, but at 7am on Sunday police found Anni’s body in the rear of the car, which had been dumped in nearby town Lingelethu West.

Preyen said: ”The first officer on the scene contacted me and informed me that Anni had been shot three times at point blank range.

”There were no signs of a struggle or any other interference.”

Preyen, who with Mr Dewani is a director of care home company PSP Healthcare, said his brother was a resilient man who was turning to his faith to help him with his grief.

Paying tribute to Anni, he said: ”She was incredibly beautiful, a smiling, bubbly personality who was excited and keen to embark on life as Mrs Dewani.

”Life was about to start for them. They were excited and it was the time of their lives, like any young couple going on honeymoon.”

Mr Dewani, a former pupil of Bristol Grammar School, and Anni, who was Swedish and worked for mobile phone company Ericsson, had been together for about a year.

After their Mumbai wedding they had flown back to their home in Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol, to celebrate the Hindu festival of Diwali with their family.

They left for South Africa on Tuesday (9/11) and were four days into their honeymoon when tragedy struck.

Husband of murdered honeymooner begged robbers to spare wife
Mr Dewani, who is being helped in South Africa by his father, Prakash, and Anni’s father, Vinod Hindocha, is expected to return to Bristol in the next few days.

A post mortem examination was completed on Monday (15/11) and Anni’s body will be flown back to the UK for a funeral and memorial service later this week.

It had been widely reported that the couple had taken a diversion to visit the nightlife of the local townships, which are generally considered no-go areas for tourists.

”An outstanding young man”

But Preyen refuted the rumours, and said they had merely been driving along the main road when they were stopped.

Preyen added that his brother had so far been coping with his grief.

He said: ”He is very resilient and has tremendous strength of character. He has always been strong, with a firm belief in the Hindu faith.

”He was the general secretary of the National Hindu Students Forum and after university continued to assist the younger generation in maintaining their culture and religion.

”This now serves to help him in his own hour of grief.”

More than 200 friends and family and members of Bristol’s Hindu community have now visited Mr Dewani’s home to pay their respects to Anni – singing prayers and hymns.

A shrine has also been set up in her honour.

A former teacher at Bristol Grammar School yesterday (Tues) described Mr Dewani as ”an outstanding young man, immensely talented, very diplomatic and a natural leader”.

He studied for a degree in economics and finance at Manchester, before working as a chartered accountant for the consultancy firm Deloitte in London.

Five years ago he and Preyen joined forces to expand the family business, now owning a £15-million empire of award-winning nursing and care homes.

He employs almost 500 people and cares for a similar number of elderly people and those with dementia.

Police in South Africa are still hunting for Anni’s killers, and ministers in the country are appealing for people to come forward with information.

A Foreign Office spokesman said: ”We are aware of the situation and are providing consular assistance to a British national who is involved, and their family.”

Preyen thanked the South African police, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for their help in the investigation and asked the family now be given time to grieve.

He added: ”We now humbly request that we be given some time and privacy to come to terms with this tragedy without further intrusion.”
